Lakshya Sen Canada Open badminton 2023: Indian star in final

Lakshya Sen is the Indian flagbearer in the men’s singular class in the continuous Canada Open at the Markin-MacPhail Center in Calgary, between July 4 to July 9.

Despite the early exits of Parupalli Kashyap and B Sai Praneeth, Sen has remained determined and has been in excellent condition in the opposition.

The opening triumph siphoned his certainty that assisted him with brushing aside Brazil’s Ygor Coelho 21-15, 21-11 in the round of 16 in just over thirty minutes.

In the quarter-finals, he was tested by German qualifier Julien Carraggi who gave a difficult stretch to the Indian. In spite of the fact that he had little difficulty in winning the first 21-8, he lost focus and permitted his adversary to attract level the match by losing the second game 17-21. In the decider, he recovered and reclaimed control to dominate the game, 21-8, 17-21, 21-10.

In the semi-finals, he was facing Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto. In the wake of getting the better of Viditsarn in the opener, he beat one more considerable adversary in straight games, 21-17, 21-14 to secure his spot in the final.
